By starting out dancing when I was just a small child, dance has become my life. I get to feel the love and gift dance brings to me every day. To think of my life without dance feels like I lost part of my soul that keeps my life full of energy and happiness. Some of the biggest life lessons I have learned are from traveling through the dance world.
I believe that dancing in front of an audience, the audience members need to be able to feel the same joy that I feel dancing up on stage. The ability to feel what you are conveying is a major part of being a dancer. With my involvement in the dance world, I hope to express and convey the passion and emotion dance brings me and radiate that to all who will watch.
At this time so many things are changing and the dance world has been able to explore more deeply certain aspects. The ability to convey the same feeling one gets when watching a live performance and now trying to recreate that feeling through a screen is one major challenge that has come out of these hard times. I find this very exciting, exploring dance through technology, it is leading the dance world to become more accessible to those who usually wouldn’t have the opportunity to see a live performance. It is also exciting to think about everything that will come out of this major change we have had in our lives. But, we are figuring out new ways to see and experience dance that is exceptional, and that is what I am most appreciative about taking a digital editing class. It has sparked my interest in exploring dance through technology, which I think will now be a normal phenomenon in the dance world.
